TOPSAIL’S TOP CHOICE INFO & RULES

 

Voting Method and Requirements

  • Visit the official Topsail’s Top Choice website at www.topsailstopchoice.com.
  • Fill out the registration form to create your Top Choice account.
  • Must include your name and email address for your vote to be counted.
  • No fees to register, nominate, or vote.

Voting Limits

  • Each person can vote for only one business per category.
  • If you change your mind, you can update your vote in any category until the voting period ends.

How We Ensure Fair Voting

  • Smart software is in place to ensure fair voting.
  • Voters must create accounts using their name and unique email address.
  • IP addresses are tracked and monitored for unusual voting patterns.
  • If multiple people are voting in the same household, we ask that you vote from different devices to avoid being flagged.
  • Businesses and Voters who do not follow our guidelines, engage in any attempts at ballot manipulation, or use Topsail Top Choice marketing materials/badges fraudulently may be eliminated from participating in Topsail’s Top Choice.

Nominee Eligibility

  • Nominees must be businesses located in Scotts Hill, Hampstead, Surf City, Topsail Beach, North Topsail, Holly Ridge, or Sneads Ferry.
  • If not physically located in these towns, they must be active members of The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and regularly come to and provide services to residents.
  • Eligibility is verified through official sources like business licenses, social media, and websites.
  • Businesses do NOT need to be members of the Chamber of Commerce to participate.

Nominations

  • Nominate your favorite businesses starting September 17th.
  • A contest admin will verify the business’s information and category and approve the nomination before it can be voted on.
  • Nominations close September 30th.

Voting Period

  • Voting starts on September 24th and closes on October 31st.

Category Selection

  • Businesses can participate in up to 3 categories.
  • Once nominations close on September 30th, category choices are locked for the remainder of the voting period.

Permissions and Use of Likeness

  • By participating, businesses agree to allow the use of their name, likeness, and image in promotional materials.
  • If a business prefers not to participate, they can contact us at info@topsailstopchoice.com or call Christa at (910) 800-0111 to be removed from all categories.

Results and Announcements

  • You’ll see how businesses rank in real-time until October 25th.
  • Rankings will “Go Dark” October 25-31st.
  • Voting Closes at midnight on October 31st.
  • Our top three businesses in each category will be announced on November 15th on multiple platforms.
  • Winners receive a certificate, promotional materials, and bragging rights!
